Mills Creek Dam - Public Meeting

The Augusta County Board of Supervisors is working in cooperation with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to develop a plan for the rehabilitation of the South River Watershed flood control dam #10-A (Mills Creek). The study is to determine the best alternatives for rehabilitation so the dam will meet current state dam safety regulations and design standards. Alternatives being considered include:

·No Action

·Decommissioning (Dam removal)

·Structural Rehabilitation

·Nonstructural Measures

The purpose of this meeting is to describe the study process and seek public input relative to the management of this structure for the planning horizon. NRCS and Virginia Department of Conservation & Recreation – Dam Safety & Floodplain Management staff will be present to discuss your questions and concerns. Please plan to attend.
