Atlantic Coast Pipeline Public Hearing

The Augusta County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. to consider the proposed Atlantic Coast Pipeline project. This hearing will be held in the Public Meeting Room in the Augusta County Government Center, 18 Government Center Lane, Verona, Virginia. In case of inclement weather, the meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. The purpose of the public hearing is to gain input from residents and property owners prior to the Board of Supervisors providing comments to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on the proposed pipeline route through the county.

Dominion Resources has indicated that they will be attending the hearing and will be making a presentation on their proposed project. As part of the hearing, citizens will be given the opportunity to voice their opinion, pro or con, about the pipeline project and its proposed location. Augusta County does expect a significant turnout for this meeting. Every attempt will be made to accommodate the public at this meeting, including the use of auxiliary meeting rooms which will have access to audio and visual feeds of the hearing. In order to accommodate all citizens, the following protocol will be in place for the meeting:
• Anyone wishing to speak at the hearing will be allowed to do so
• Those speaking as an individual will be given 3 minutes to speak, while those representing a group will be given 5 minutes to speak
• Augusta County residents will be allowed to speak first, in the order they sign up to speak, followed by non-county residents

In addition to the comments received at the public hearing, the Board of Supervisors will accept written comments through February 4, 2015. Those comments can be mailed to:
