    Household Hazardous Waste Day is an event for residence to dispose of hazardous waste safely.

 Household Hazardous Waste Day

This event is for residents to clean out old or unused hazardous waste safely. While most household waste is not considered hazardous there are chemicals and everyday products that are.  Please see the flyer below for more information. 

 For residents of Augusta County, Staunton, and Waynesboro

 When:  NEW DATE!  SATURDAY OCTOBER 13TH 2018! 

 Time:      8:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon

 Where:    Augusta County Government Center, Verona ( 18 Government Center Ln Verona, Virginia 24482 )

The following products will be accepted:

  • Gasoline
  • Diesel Fuel
  • Antifreeze
  • Kerosene
  • #2 Fuel Oil
  • 2 Cycle Fuel Mix
  • Oil-based Paints & Stains
  • Polyurethane
  • CFL & Fluorescent Bulbs
  • Rechargeable Batteries
  • Automobile Batteries
  • Used Motor Oil
  • Pesticides
  • Herbicides
  • Mercury Devices
  • Solvents
  • Small Electronics
  • Computers

 

The following products WILL NOT be accepted:

  • Hazardous materials from businesses [This event is for households only, per EPA and DEQ regulations.]

  • Unknown or unlabeled containers

  • Propane tanks; large electronics; televisions; water-based paint; household batteries; vehicle tires

    •  These materials will not be excepted!
