        What’s happening around the Sheriff’s Office?

Sheriff Smith recently authorized the use of newly designed decals, seen here, to give a fresh new look to the patrol fleet.  New patrol vehicles will be outfitted with the decals as they are placed in service.

The Sheriff’s Office now has a “safe exchange zone” which can be utilized for child custody exchanges, as well as a neutral place to finalize online sales transactions.  With the increasing trend in online buying/selling of merchandise, the safe exchange zone offers an alternative to having someone you don’t know come to your home, and adds a layer of protection to all parties involved.  The designated spaces are located in front of the Sheriff’s Office and they are monitored by video surveillance.
