The Planning Commission is a recommending body responsible for reviewing all rezoning requests, Comprehensive Plan amendment requests, 2232 substantial accord determinations, and zoning ordinance amendments. The Commission provides recommendations of approval or denial to the Board of Supervisors.

Planning Commissioners are appointed to hold four-year terms by the Board member of their respective magisterial district.

Planning Commission meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month in the Augusta County Government Center at 7:00 p.m, with work sessions or joint public hearings with the Board of Supervisors held on an as-needed basis.
